Quality Umpires for The Houston Area

Lonestar Baseball Umpire Association (LBUA) takes pride in providing your baseball league or tournament event with professional, knowledgeable, experienced umpires.

Have you ever been embarrassed by your umpires' late arrival or poor appearance? You'll never have that problem with us. LBUA officials will arrive at least 30 minutes prior to game time, presenting a professional appearance. Rest assured your league will be impressed with our umpires' professionalism.

Our umpires attend annual classroom/field sessions and are Pony League certified. Whether your need is for Little League, High School, Junior College or Semi-Pro, LBUA is your source for quality umpires.

Locations for PONY Tournaments

If you are chosen to work any of the Houston Area PONY National Play Tournaments here are some reminders:

Make sure you and your partner show up at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the game. When you get to the field, contact the PONY tournament director.
Some locations provide a dressing area for umpires, so check with the press box area or tournament director before dressing out.

DO NOT Forget your pre-game with your partner while dressing out. Use this time to go over rotations, signals, responsibilities, etc. Make sure you are prepared to work as a team!
Be sure to alternate your plate assignments (no back-to-back plates if possible).

Your uniform should be wrinkle free and neat in apperance. The Major League Polo Blue shirt is our default color, but you are allowed to wear any approved color shirt as long as ALL umpires on the field are wearing the same color. Our association DOES NOT wear the Navy or Powder Blue (with Powder Blue Collar) color shirts. Umpire pants should only be "Heather Grey" (No Charcoal Grey Pants allowed), Ball Bags should be black in color with no markings on the outside, and all undershirts should be white (no exceptions).
